The call of the marching bell bang-e-dara published in 1924 was the first urdu philosophical poetry book by Muhammad Iqbal . One of the greatest poet of Pakistan .

The book in the call of the marching bell were written by Iqbal over a period of twenty years. The collection is divided into three parts.

Iqbal divided this book into three parts. The first part contains words from 1901 to 1905, the second part contains words from 1905 to 1908 and the third part contains words from 1908 to 1924. This sequence indicates Iqbal’s intellectual evolution.

The first edition of Bang Dara was published on September 3, 1924 and three editions were published during Iqbal’s lifetime.

Bang Dara means “the sound of the bell”. The sound of the bell informs the caravan of departure so that the sleeping passengers may be ready for the journey and then go towards the destination under the guidance of Bang Dara.
